We celebrated our annual Staff Appreciation Luncheon today . Mr Baker chose a theme to express his appreciation by decorating the tables with gardening utensils. At first everyone was curious and wondering what the soil cultivators meant.
In his speech he went on to explain the meaning of the gardening theme. He mentioned that every child is a beautiful flower waiting to be cultivated and cared for. All staff also received a "love letter" from Mr Baker which included a poem that he had written the night before. Below is the poem he wrote for his staff :

The Humble Gardner

. Recognizes the beautiful flowers, even when the weeds have overgrown.
. Tenderly cleans the bed of weeds and debris away.
. Supplies water and strength building nutrients to help them grow.
. Carefully prunes the branches to help guide and shape the direction in which they will go.
. Takes time to enjoy each flower and showers praise and recognition for the beauty it beholds.

Thank you Mr Baker for recognizing the valuable work we all do!
Mr Baker also gave special consideration and praise to Mrs.Goss. He stated that Mrs Goss was constantly at his side whenever he needed support. He mentioned that most gave what was expected of them..but some went far beyond that, giving more of themselves for the benefit of our students and staff. He presented Mrs Goss with a special soil cultivator ( see picture) in recognition of her extraordinary dedication.
Mr Baker then went on to bestow upon Mrs Goss the title of Mojave Elementary School Teacher of the Year!
Congratulations to Mrs Goss for this well deserved honor.

Mr Baker also praised the site secretary , Mrs Tracy Johnston for all her hard work. He mentioned that Tracy was always willing to take on much of the work that went far and above her normal duties.
Congratulations to Tracy for helping carry the load for Mr Baker.

The children also showed their appreciation by making a poster with drawings of all the staff members. ( see pictures) We all got a kick out of this and served as a reminder of why we are working here. Every one enjoyed the feast ( see picture) . Thanks to all who contributed .

We wish Mr Baker continued success in all his endeavors . We will miss him and his evident love for our students.
