Mojave Elementary Primary Olympics
Our Mes Kids participated in their first annual Primary Olympics (next year hopefully all grades will participate). As the time approched the teachers and aids checked and rechecked their event list to make sure everything was just right. The weather was on our side this time (compared with the first rocket launch attempt)..There was a slight breeze which kept the kids cool. In all there were eight event that our kids were able to participate in. The Birdie Feather Race, Hula Hoop, Spoon and ball, Paper Airplane Fold and Fly, Track, Long Jump, Triple Jump and 200 Yard Dash. ( Watch the video of Mr Lomba and Adrian Ruiz go mano a mano in the 200 yd. dash) Seemed like everyone had fun with very few mishaps. I heard a few comments in the Teachers Lounge about how some of the staff cant wait for next years competition ( Gloria Cruz said she really enjoyed herself and asked why this had'nt been done before) I personally observed how all the Teachers and Aids were focused on making this event a fun and learning experience for our Kids.
Thanks to all who had a part in making Mes Primary Olympics a complete success !!
Thank you Naomi for making the Feather Race fun and exciting for the students.
Thank you Darlene for making sure the kids had fun but also teaching them a few lessons about sportmanship.
Thank you Mrs Day for keeping the large group of kids that you were in charge of from hurting themselves ( check out her megaphone and wazzoo) You did a great job !
Thank you Mrs Ketchell and Natalie for coordinating the Fold and Fly event..the kids learned how to fold a paper plane and had fun flying them.
Thank you Cheri for being who you are.. and teaching the kids that it's ok TO BE OLD AND STILL HAVE FUN !! LOL !
Thank you Mr Burns ( aka Third Degree) for keeping your cool and not smacking any of the Kids..lol !!
Thank you Mrs Barr for showing your enthusiasm and good spirit.
Thank you Mrs Goss for spearheading the Primary Olympics and going the extra mile (pun intended)
